Council Members

The seven elected Council Members comprise the Grand County Council which is made up of elected officials that are the legislative body for Grand County. Council Members serve on a part-time basis while the other elected officials serve full time. The Council employs a Council Administrator to manage the day-to-day affairs and to oversee the departments in which the Council has responsibility.
The Council Administrator is hired by the Council to perform administrative duties related to planning, organizing, coordinating, and controlling the various management responsibilities of the County Council. The Council Administrator has no executive power, but rather this is held by the County Council.
The County Council meetings are open to the public, and agendas are posted in the courthouse, on-line, emailed, and faxed to interested citizens. Council meetings are held bi-monthly, in which all major decisions are made. In some cases, public hearings are also required.

Council Meetings are held the first and third Tuesday of every month in the Council Chambers at the County Courthouse. Afternoon Sessions for administrative matters typically begin at 3:00 p.m. Evening Sessions for public hearings begin at 7:00 p.m.
