Planning Commission Public Hearing
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that on May 14, at 6:00 P.M. in the Council Chambers of the Grand County Courthouse, the Grand County Planning Commission will hold a public hearing to hear public comment on a proposed rezone for property located on the northeast corner of U.S. 191 and Mill Creek Drive. The property is owned by Mill Creek Moab, LLC and consists of 21 acres. The request is for a zone change from Large Lot Residential (LLR) to Multi-family Residential 14 (MFR-14). A complete copy of the application is available for review in the Grand County Planning Office, 125 E. Center, Moab, Utah.

PROPOSAL FOR LEGAL SERVICES
Grand County is accepting sealed proposals for a qualified attorney to provide indigent parents legal services for dependency cases. The attorney services shall be full service which will include but are not limited to hearings, mediation, dependency drug court, juvenile court hearings, appeals, client meetings, clerical tasks. Candidates are required to hold a Juris Doctor from an accredited law school and be an active member of the Utah State Bar and comply with all terms contained in the Request for Proposal.
Proposal specifications may be obtained at the Clerk Auditor’s Office, 125 E Center St, Moab, Utah 84532 and online. All sealed proposals must be turned into the Clerk Auditor’s Office by 5:00 p.m. on Monday, May 12, 2008. The County reserves the right to reject any or all proposals or waive minor defects as it deems appropriate. REQUEST FOR CONSTRUCTION BIDS
Grand County is accepting sealed bids to remodel the Old Grand County Library Building, 75 South 100 East, Moab, Utah into office spaces for the Grand County Sheriff and Attorney’s Offices.
Bid specifications may also be obtained at the County Clerk’s Office, 125 E Center St, Moab, Utah 84532. All sealed bids must be turned into the Clerk Auditor’s Office by 5:00 p.m. on Monday, May 5, 2008. The County Council reserves the right to reject any or all bids or waive minor defects as it deems appropriate. BOARD VACANCY
Please take notice that Grand County is accepting applications for one at-large position on the Solid Waste Special Service District #1. The term of this position will end December 31, 2011. All applicants must be residents of Grand County and meet the following requirements:
- No appointed member of the board may be a full or part-time employee of the district while serving on the board.
- No person employed by a special service district as a full-time or part-time employee may serve on the governing board of the district.
- A board member may not be compensated separately as a board member and as an employee for providing the same service.
- Each trustee/board member appointed by the County legislative body shall be an elector of the district.

COMMISSION VACANCY
Please take notice that Grand County is accepting applications for one position on the Grand County Historical Preservation Commission. The term of this position will end December 31, 2011. All applicants shall meet the following requirements:
- Grand County resident or a resident of San Juan or Emery County so long as the applicant has an interest in preserving Grand County’s history.
- Agree to abide by the County’s conflict of interest ordinance.
Interested individuals may obtain a Certification and Application Form, available on-line at http://www.grandcountyutah.net/pdf/BoardAppForm.pdf or at the County Council’s Office located at 125 E Center St, Moab, UT 84532. Completed forms shall be returned to the Council’s Office at the aforementioned address attention to Shawn Warnke. Position is open until filled. Applications will be forwarded to the Historical Preservation Commission for the first round of review on May 15, 2008.

Grand County Board of Adjustment
Grand County Board of Adjustment Vacancies
Grand County is accepting applications for a volunteer position on the Board of Adjustment. The Board of Adjustment is a quasi-judicial body which serves to hear and decide appeals of administrative land use code decisions and the permitting of variances. Interested applicants should be available to meet the first Monday of each month. Additional meetings may be called by the Chair in response to specific petitions, to review general Board procedures, and for training purposes.
Applicants must meet the following qualifications:
- Be a resident and registered voter of Grand County for at least two (2) years prior to serving on the Board;
- Have a genuine interest in the planning and zoning of the County; and
- Have the ability to work with the public and devote time to this service.
Interested residents of Grand County should send a completed Certification and Application Form, available on www.grandcountyutah.net or in the County Council Office, to: Grand County Council Office, Attn: Shawn Warnke, 125 E. Center Street, Moab, UT 84532. Positions open until filled.
