The Moab Tailings Project (MTP)
Steering Committee was established in September of 2005
after the Department of Energy released it’s Record
of Decision to move over 13 million tons of uranium tailings
off the banks of the Colorado River to a site 35 miles
north of Moab Utah to Crescent Junction. The intent
of the committee is to identify the potential positive
and negative impacts that this major construction project
will have on Grand County and insure the protection of
the health, safety and welfare of the citizens of Grand
County. |
