Trail Work

This winter, Trail Mix volunteers worked on maintaining the following trails:

  • Trail to the Tombstones (aka the BASE jumper trail). Ginny and Jim helped to reroute the trail and block off social trails.
  • Bartlett Wash; thanks to Ginny and Jim, again as well as Chad from the BLM and Christina. We marked the access point a little better and put up barriers to keep users off of the soil. Please stay on the rock!
  • Porcupine Rim Singletrack: Colin and Jason narrowed the trail in a couple of spots near the wash.
  • Hidden Valley Trail: Same folks, same mission- keep singletrack single.
  • Sovereign Trail: Landon and Goose worked with Ride with Respect to reroute an eroding section.
  • Jackson’s Trail (aka Amasa Back singletrack): Landon and Steve put up signs and raked out tracks.
  • Mill Creek Rim: Glen, Peter, Ginny, Jim, and Liz moved logs and rocks and put up a new sign to keep vehicles on the road, off the non-motorized trail, and out of the vegetation.

Trail Mix volunteers Jim and Dave also assisted the Backcountry Horsemen, led by Ken and Gayle, on constructing a corral at Onion Creek in record three days
