Reading Challenges

NASA @ My Library Online Reading Challenge for All Ages

December 1st-31st!

Explore our universe with the James Webb Space Telescope Challenge for all ages! Learn all about the science behind NASA’s newest space telescope mission, the James Webb Space Telescope. Scheduled to launch this winter, JWST is the most advanced infrared space telescope ever launched and will allow us to look deeper into time and space than ever before!

To complete the challenge read a total of four hours or more by the end of this year! Reading to someone or being read to counts too! Earn space themed reading and activity badges. All reading and activity badges earn you prize drawing tickets for our end of challenge prize drawings for astronomy tours/star gazing trips.

Children ages 0-12 who register for this challenge earn a free pretend play telescope and a bookmark. Children who read for four or more hours and complete the reading challenge get to pick a prize from our space-themed treasure box which includes items like glow in the dark stars, space shuttle gliders, and color your own hanging planet mobiles.

Tweens and teens ages 10-18 who register for this challenge will have the opportunity to enter prize drawings for gift certificates to Dave's Corner Market and Wabi Sabi.

Adults who register will receive a pair of winter gloves, and can enter tickets into a prize drawing for 2 sets of gift certificates to Moab Astronomy's Astro Tour for 2!

All registration rewards and reading rewards are available first come/first served while supplies last.

Thank you to RedRock Astronomy and Moab Astronomy Tours for donating prizes for our end of challenge prize drawings!
