Seamless Summer (SSO) of the National School Lunch Program (NSLP)

The Grand County School District is planning to operate the Seamless Summer Option (SSO) of the National School

Lunch Program from June 13-July 29, 2022, providing nutritious meals to all children 18 years and under free of charge.

As part of our ongoing efforts to better serve the children of Grand and San Juan Counties, we have identified several

locations around our community that meet USDA requirements for the SSO program, as well as being safe, local sites,

where children can more easily access free summer meals.

For the 2022 program running from June 13th - July 29th, we will be operating a mobile program where meals are

served at local community sites such as parks or playgrounds. Meals will be served for 10-15 minutes by Grand County

School District Staff, followed by volunteers offering a short activity (~10 minutes). Our staff and volunteers will

encourage children to keep the area clean and pack as much trash as possible from the location daily. We will be at

your location for approximately 20-30 minutes total and have identified locations that should have minimal impact to

your normal operations. We really appreciate your cooperation and approval to host our summer meals program at

your location. We want to be as respectful and accommodating to your location as possible to make this a successful

partnership to benefit our children this summer.
