What we can recycle in Moab

Grand County Utah

Accepted materials have recently changed at the Moab Community Recycling Center due to several factors, including commodity pricing, recycling center capacity, and contamination of materials. Well-sorted materials without trash will help the center continue to offer the greatest range of service possible.   Commercial, and large volume (greater than 1 cubic yard ) residential subject to drop-off fee.

See-through plastic beverage bottles (#1 plastics).  
Rinsed.  No lids.  
Natural-color (partly transparent) plastic jugs and bottles (#2 plastics).  
Rinsed.  No lids.
Glass jars and bottles.  
Washed (no left over food).  No lids.
Aluminum and steel/tin cans.  Rinsed/washed.
White and pastel office/copy paper and computer paper (with perforated edges)  
No card stock, glossy ads, sticky notes, newspapers, catalogs, magazines, file folders, no junk mail, or envelopes.
Corrugated cardboard (wavy layer provides stability and padding)
 Please flatten and stack.


What we can’t recycle in Moab

Plastic “clam-shells” (#1-#7)
Yogurt and margarine containers
(#3-#7 plastics)
Solid-color plastic containers including solid-white plastic milk jugs
 (#2 plastics)
Flat cardboard (cereal boxes, beverage containers), magazines, catalogs, phone books, TP and paper towel rolls, egg cartons, wrapping paper,
 greeting cards, books
Newspapers and everything stuffed into them


Operating Hours:
Monday, Tuesday, Thursday:  8 am to 5 pm
Saturday:  8 am to 12:30 pm  (Second Saturday accepting E-Waste, Fluorescent Lamps, Batteries)
Wednesday, Friday, Sunday, Holidays:  CLOSED
