Amend the Grand County Land Use Code
To allow alternative dwelling communities
Project Title: Consider an ordinance to amend the Grand County Land Use Code to establish a permitting path for alternative dwelling communities, or long term camparks specifically to provide attainable, safe and dignified housing for local workforce and long term residents of Grand County.
Project Description: The Grand County Planning Commission and Planning & Zoning staff have crafted an update to the Land Use Code to allow the development of “Alternative Dwelling Communities” or long term camparks, to support the housing needs of seasonal workforce and other long term residents who lack access to housing due to current market conditions.
A town hall is planned for August 3rd, 2022 at Star Hall from 5p-7p to share the draft ordinance and educate on how specific development standards will be included in the LUC update, in order to mitigate the potential impacts on existing residential neighborhoods.
