2026 PRIMARY ELECTION


April 1

Deadline to change your party affiliation for the 2026 primary election.

June 2

First day ballots will be mailed for the Primary Election.

June 12

Voter registration deadline for Primary Election.
Provisional ballots will still be accepted after. 

June 15

Last day to request a by-mail ballot.

June 22

Last day for a military or overseas voter to request a ballot for the Primary Election.

2026 Primary Election Date - VOTE BY 8PM

June 29

Last day for a provisional voter to show valid ID for their vote to count in the Primary Election.

July 7

Board of Canvassers meets to certify the Primary Election results. 


2026 GENERAL ELECTION


October 13

First day ballots will be mailed for the General Election

October 23

Voter registration deadline for General Election.
Provisional ballots will still be accepted after. 

October 26

Last day to request a by-mail ballot.

November 2

Last day for a military or overseas voter to request a ballot for the General Election.

2026 General Election Date - VOTE BY 8PM

November 9

Last day for a provisional voter to show valid ID for their vote to count in the General Election.

November 17

Board of Canvassers meets to certify the General Election results. 

2026 CANDIDATE DEADLINE INFORMATION

8 am, January 2 - 5pm, January 8, 2026

Candidacy filing period for candidates affiliated with qualified political parties, as well as local board of education candidates.

Declaration of intent to gather signatures period for qualified political party candidates. Qualified political party candidates must submit nomination petition signatures no later than 14 days before the day on which the qualified political party holds its convention to select candidates for the elective office.

8 am, January 2 - 5pm, April 27, 2026

Candidacy filing period for candidates affiliated with registered (unqualified) political parties.

8am, January 2 - 5pm, June 15, 2026

Candidacy filing period for unaffiliated candidates.

8am, June 1 - 5pm, June 8, 2026

Candidacy filing period for special districts

5pm, March 31

Nomination petition signatures due for registered (unqualified) political party candidates.

5pm, June 15

Nomination certificates due for unaffiliated candidates.

5pm, June 16

Voluntary campaign finance disclosure report deadline for Primary Election candidates for all transactions through July 25.

5pm July 22

Campaign finance disclosure report deadline for eliminated Primary Election candidates for the period ending July 22. 

5pm September 30

Voluntary interim financial disclosure report deadline for General Election candidates for the period ending Sept 29.

5pm October 27

Required financial disclosure report deadline for General Election candidates for the period ending Oct 24.

5pm December 3

Required FINAL financial disclosure report deadline for General Election candidates for the period ending Dec 2.
